Burlington Union – Thursday, December 4th, 2014
It’s been a while since former Burlington High athletic standouts Jason Fico, Justin Fico and Dan Cardarelli were leading their respective Red Devil teams to victory.
Jason Fico played soccer and basketball for BHS and went on to coach sports locally, working with the freshman basketball teams at Austin Prep in Reading and Minuteman High in Lexington.
Justin Fico was a baseball and basketball player for the Devils who also went on to coach both sports at the youth level in Burlington.
Cardarelli was a baseball, basketball and football player for Burlington.
On the football field, Cardarelli lettered three times and was named to the Carole Classic All-Star game as a senior.
The trio joined forces in recent years to form the And 1 Warriors in the Burlington Men’s Basketball League, winning three league championships including the last two in 2013 and 2014 with the Ficos sparking the offense throughout the season.
These days, they’re teaming up for another challenge, this time in a different competitive landscape with a new coach. Being led by the mentor, Paula Kostopoulos Fico, who recently partnered with her uncle Charles Kostopoulos, a long-time real estate investor and broker from Cambridge, in order to launch FICO Realty Group.
Paula Fico has been selling real estate in the Greater Boston area and surrounding suburbs for over a decade. Prior to real estate, she began her career working in advertising and public relations in downtown Boston.
Jason Fico has had his real estate license and has worked in real estate for five years. Now a REALTOR, Jason focuses on client management and retention, while wearing many different hats in the FICO office. He previously worked in construction for more than 10 years, running a small HVAC company.
Justin Fico has been handling the administrative work as he works towards his real estate license.
Dan Cardarelli does not currently work for FICO Realty Group.
